In a completely unexpected crossover, Power Wash Simulator will be getting five new jobs based on iconic scenes from Final Fantasy VII.

Square Enix has announced that one of the most iconic JRPGs of all time, Final Fantasy VII, will be crossing over with Power Wash Simulator. It's an absolutely wild pairing of two properties that almost reaches the same levels of incredulity as seeing Sephiroth announced for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. While there don't seem to be any Final Fantasy characters included in the crossover, there are plenty of memorable locations for players to clean.

More specifically, the free update to Power Wash Simulator will feature five jobs focused on locations in Midgar that players visit throughout FFVII's story. The Midgar Special Pack will be released across all versions of Power Wash Simulator for free, giving players a chance to clean some iconic vehicles, setpieces, and even bosses from the game. It's certainly an interesting idea for a crossover, but the grim and industrial Midgar is probably one of the most appropriate Final Fantasy locations to send a professional power washer.

The first job in the Midgar Special Pack takes place in the Shinra Building. Players have to clean the Hardy Daytona and the Shinra Hauler, the two vehicles that Cloud Strife's party use to escape the Shinra Building. Some of Power Wash Simulator's best levels involve cleaning complex transports, so these two industrial vehicles seem like a great fit for the game.

The Hardy Daytona and the Shinra Hauler appear to be based on the Final Fantasy VII Remake versions. This means that the Shinra Haulter is missing the spare wheel that was present on the vehicle's roof in the original game. Based on the blog post screenshots, there also appear to be some scenic screenshots of Midgar hanging on the walls.

Speaking of the Shinra Building, players will also be able to clean the Mako Energy Exhibit. In FFVII Remake, the Mako Energy Exhibit is one of three exhibits being hosted in the Shinra Energy Corporation's building. One notable part of this exhibit that's been confirmed to be included in the Power Wash Simulator level is a model of the city of Midgar.

In-game, the Energy Exhibit doesn't play a huge part in the story. Players pass through it along with two additional exhibits during the "Playing the Tourist" mission. There are a few things to interact with that provide a bit of Midgar-related lore. The real highlight, however, is the Midgar model which shows off the massive influence that Shinra has had in shaping the city.

The next mission features an FFVII Remake exclusive boss, the Scorpion Sentinel. This massive metal robot serves as the game's first boss, though players won't have to worry about any laser-based counterattacks while cleaning it. The Scorpion Sentinel will be deactivated in-game, allowing players to give the metal behemoth a much-needed polish.

As mentioned earlier, the Scorpion Sentinel is effectively an original boss created for FFVII Remake, though it's heavily based on the original game's Guard Scorpion. The main difference between the two designs comes down to the Sentinel having a much larger "stinger," while the Guard Scorpion has a more tank-like design and a brighter paint job.

Players will be able to visit one of the most iconic locations in Final Fantasy VII, Seventh Heaven. However, it appears in Power Wash Simulator in a less-than-spotless state, requiring a serious cleaning. Players are going to have their work cut out for them with this location, as it's practically buried under a layer of dirt.

Seventh Heaven is, of course, the Sector 7 bar owned and operated by Tifa Lockhart. Its status as the main base of operations for both FFVII and FFVII Remake cements it as an absolutely iconic location, so it makes a lot of sense to include it in a game that focuses on picking out fine details during a cleaning job.

The fifth and final job that players will be able to take on will task them with cleaning one last boss. The Airbuster is present in both FFVII and its remake, sporting a pretty similar design in both versions. Fought during the quest "Storm the Gates," Cloud, Tifa, and Barrett aim to destroy the Airbuster on live television as a direct attack against the Shinra Corporation.

Given how important the Airbuster is to Shinra, players can expect it to require a pretty heavy cleaning to be operational. As this Power Wash Simulator mission takes place before "Storm the Gates," it is funny to think that all the hard work spent cleaning the Airbuster will be undone once Cloud Strife destroys it.
